WHY FRANKLIN BALLS?

We know as riders its really important to be balanced, coordinated and as flexible as possible.  In order to do this we need to work on our core, abs, gluteus, pelvis and much more.  Working with the Franklin Balls off of the horse will help us to improve all of the above.  It’s also a great way to get fit and have some fun!

WHEN SHOULD WE use franklin balls?

The exercises can be used either as a quick pre ride warm up or as a total unmounted session on their own.  Using some of the exercises before you ride could really help your performance in the saddle!  Trying to make time once a week to do a total unmounted session would have a huge benefit to your riding!

HOW DO WE USE FRANKLIN BALLS?

Working with different air and water filled balls through a variety of different exercises, we can help to mobilise, stabilise and tone our body.  This is not only going to help us when we are riding, by in everyday life too!  The more “switched on” we keep our bodies, the more we reduce the risk of injury to them.

WHAT WILL WORKING WITH THE BALLS DO FOR ME??

Working with the balls has many benefits.  We all want a better connection with our horses while in the saddle and this can really help.  A few of the main benefits from working with the balls can be:

  • Greater “feel”
  • Softening of our Fascia to allow greater movement through it
  • Improved bodily awareness
  • Improved range of movement
  • Improved flexibility
  • Greater relaxation

We know we can get huge effects from working with the balls while in the saddle, but wait until you see the difference you can make to both your horse and yourself by working with them out if the saddle!
